'97 sunfire crank but no start

Hey everyone,

I have a 97 sunfire 2.2l. It starts to crank, then when it seems like its about to start, it seems like it just hits a wall. the motor stops cranking, the lights on the dash cut out. If you hold the key down, it will start cranking a little more, then repeat, but won't start. Its been sitting for a little while now(~7 months), but all the fluids are full and decent looking. I've replaced the starter selonoid yesterday, and the battery just before i let it sit, but it seems like the battery is still good, plus we tried jumping it, and still the same results. when i give it a little gas when trying to start it, it has almost a detination sound through my short ram intake when i release the key, which makes me think maybe coil packs. but I also had a remote start and keyless entry system installed about 2 1/2 years ago, and a little while after that( ~5 months), is when it started having the problems. Ive replaced three starters, 3 ingition switches, 2 batteries, and countless other things, and each time i do this, it will start for a few weeks, then start messing up again. I have since unistalled the remote start portion of the system, and still have the keyless entry system on it. What do you think it could be? Ignitoin module, coil packs, relay, etc.? at this point, it defintly seems like the problem is in either the ignition system or a wiring issue. PLEASE HELP. Thanks, -Ian-
