92 sho 2 problems 1 needs somewhat immediate attention

Okay well just picked up a 92 sho 5 speed 3.0 and the rack and pinion is leaking badly. The passenger side boot is torn and leaking fluid can you just replace the boot or do you have to replace the whole rack. Second problem is the shifter spins. If you push into 1,3,or 5 the shifter will spin to the right. Is this normal or not. TIA nolan

If fluid is in the steering rack bellows, the rack is leaking and needs to be replaced. There shound not be power steering fluid in there.

As for the shifter spinning, are you referring to just the shift knob, or the entire shift arm? If just the knob, I'm not sure why that would only be loose in 1, 3, & 5. But I also don't see how the shift arm could possibly rotate either. Sounds like you need to remove the shift boot and take a look.

The whole shifter arm turns. And the liquid that is coming out isn't steering fluid it just looks like water but I am not sure.

Also what would cause the speedometer and tachometer not to work. Could the VSS have gone out. maybe a fuse? It will need a new clutch soon so should I just look into getting a new rack? I know most tranny maybe motor also will need to be pulled.
I found a steering rack for the car but it says it has to a have a "dn" or "dc" code where could I find this at.
