Extra reservoir on firewall for 4.6 cars

I have an extra hydraulic reservoir on the firewall on the passenger side of center that does not seem to be attached to anything. Anyone know what these were/are. Also, I see a white resistor bolted to the frame near the same side wheel, but it too is disconected. Anyone??????

This may be a clutch reservoir if your car has been converted to cable.

Well, I don't know what it was but it is gone now. It had three holes drilled in it near the top as well...... these cars do have a lot of history! I have been going through the electrical stuff as well. It is amazing how may dead lines were left on the cars as things were changed.

Really, I swore it was coolant for the muffler bearing.... but now that you mention it, this explains the holes.
