I called my local Dodge dealer service shop and asked how much to adjust the bands on my 99 Ram 5.9 and the guy told me there are no "bands" to adjust in my tranny. Is he full of it or not? This is auto with OD.

Re: Dealer Full of......
He is full of it,the 727 does have bands inside the transmission. It requires an inch pound torque wrench and I do not remember the procedure.

Re: Dealer Full of......
Thanks for the information....I will get it done asap as it has just rolled over 94,000 miles and is acting as if the overdrive kicks in and you have to accel to get it to go above 11,000 RPM's

Re: Dealer Full of......
2bands; low/reverse( for manual low, pull shifter down to 1st and rev) The other one is for 2nd gearknown as the kickdown band .Neither is applied when the trans is in overdrive.

Re: Dealer Full of......
can't be a 727 trans in a '99 its a 46re and if it has the od button on the dash the its got bands and silenoids to make it shift.and if it is going to 11 grand then then sooner you get it rebuilt the better or you gonna need a 5.9 too.and you don't want the dealer to do the trans labor wise.most get $85.00 an hour labor.
