98 Accord EX security problem
I have a 98 Accord EX sedan, 4 cyl, AT, which I am fairly impressed with for a 4 cyl. The car is completely stock, no aftermarket radio, no aftermarket security system, no keyless entry, etc. The car has not been wrecked since I have owned it the last 8 months and has not been broken into in 5 months. The problem that has me scratching my head is all of a sudden, 2 weeks ago, you would lock the car and at various times the factory alarm will go off. Sometimes it is 30 seconds and other times it may be 1 hr. All the locks work just fine. According to the dash pannel, the doors and trunk are closed. If left unlocked obviously the alarm will not go off, but I would prefer to be able to lock it. Even if I could just pull the security fuse to keep the alarm from going off that would be great, but I have not been able to find it. I have also tried resetting the multiplex system. Any suggestions? The few electrical guys I have talked to say take it to the dealer, but it is my only car, so I don't want to leave it for a week with an intermittent problem. LOOKING FOR HELP.
