Question On Carfax Odometer issue????Please Help

A guy is selling a 1997 Yukon with 150,000miles. I did a carfax and everything looks clean. It's a 1-Owner car and it was seviced and inspected consistently up to 2005 with 100,000miles. The report ends there but at that last 100,000 mile inspection, it says:

Vehicle serviced
Safety inspection performed
INCONSISTENT ODOMETER READING

Should i be worried.....i asked the guy and he said he doesn't know why.

Other than that, everything else is good and consistent, but it wasn't inspected since 2005 at 100,000 miles at the Meineki store.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Question On Carfax Odometer issue????Please Help

Hi. It is possible that an incorrect odometer reading was provided to CARFAX and that is why the odometer alert is showing up on the report. It does not necessarily mean there is a problem with the vehicle.

We do have information on our web site (www.carfax.com/help) about researching and correcting information on the CARFAX report if you are interested.

Also, since we do not receive all vehicle history records it is always a good idea to have a vehicle inspection prior to purchase of the vehicle.
