Re: Egr Delete???

Not if you want to pass smog. Some say that our engines were designed with EGR in mind and run like crap without them anyway.

If its that tube that pops out right after the TB opening, then yes, you can delete it. You will just have to plug the hole and the rest of the EGR connections. You can buy EGR block-off plates. The only thing is your PCM will throw a code. It won't affect driving or anything, you will just have an SES light until you get it tuned out.

Re: Egr Delete???

Does it have much of a positive effect on the vehicle?

Re: Egr Delete???

Not performance-wise. It just cleans up the engine bay a little. The EGR shuts off at WOT and that's why there are no gains in TQ or HP when it is deleted.

Re: Egr Delete???

the egr also helps cool the combustion chamber , on cars that are designed with and egr systems removing it may cause detonation and that can cause burnt or warped valves and holes in cast pistons.

Re: Egr Delete???

Its there basically to enhance emissions, and to some extent economy and/or efficiency.

Re: Egr Delete???

Actually headers do come with egr fittings but you can order them with or without. I don't have any egr related components on my car but that's only because it wasn't working properly.
