2000 A4 problem
My 2000 a4 1.8's problem is the oil light is flasing. ive keep it with the oil changes and it has oil, that im sure of. But the light wont go off and when i shift into 3rd gear and up..the car doesnt seem to accelerate. Just stays a constant 1.5-2000 rpm no matter how much i push the brake in. And making a different noise when shifting. Does anyone know before i go to audi?

Re: 2000 A4 problem
You may have a oil sludge issue which is causing the oil light to flicker on as the oil filter in the bottom of the sump may be blocked a little.

Re: 2000 A4 problem
if its an oil sludge concern the dealer will cover it for 10 years unlimited mileage but you have to come up with service records and the oil changed must have been synthetic.

Re: 2000 A4 problem
You have a sludged motor and it is clogging up your oil pick up tube in the oil pan. If your LUCKY and the motor is not badly sludged. You can get away with just replacing the oil pick up tube and a complete engine flush. If that doesn't work then you might need a new motor.
But if you have all maintenance records and reciepts showing that you've been up to date on your oil changes then audi will pay for a new motor. IF NOT your gonna have to pay for it. |
