01 Sable Radio Question

Hi, I have a Sable LS 01'. I wanted to remove the radio and add a Sirius transmitter to reduce the amount of static I encounter. Now I have the DIN pins or removal pins that are "U" shaped and I've inserted them into the holes. I have pressed each in the outward direction and tried to remove the radio to no avail. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to remove the trim that surrounds the radio ? I haven't been to forceful as I do not want to risk breaking anything. I have asked around but have not found much help. Thanks in advance.

Re: 01 Sable Radio Question

Turn the radio volume to minimum and turn the radio off. Turn the vehicle ignition off. Disconnect the vehicle battery.

Then using the DIN radio removal tools push the tools into the holes in the radio face plate. They should go in about 2.5-3 inches and snap in. Apply a slight outward spreading pressure and pull the radio out.
