you should be able to tow 3000lbs with out any after market equiptment.... if you were to tow higher wt's in hot weather I would get transmission cooler.....don't forget the trailer wt plus ski will be more than 1000lbs.....

Re: Towing question

The L99 cars got a 2000lbs. tow rating, you will be fine.
Just do not let the torque converter lockup cycle, drop it into "D" instead of OD.

Re: Towing question

You could, but you really don't need it. I pulled a 1,000 Lb U-haul trailer with about 1,000 Lbs of stuff in it with my 2.2l Beratta. Went 900 miles at 75 mph without a problem (even used 5th gear), didn't run even slightly warm and the back was only a couple inches lower than normal. You'll have no problem pulling a trailer half the weight with more than twice the power.

i had air shocks in a buick le sabre 307 cu and I was towing a 4,000lbs 20ft boat.....these air shocks were great in that it kept the vehicle level when towing and of course the trailer had surge brakes... very important if you get into this wt.....if you stay with what you say no need for the air shocks....i also had a 10,000lbs rated transmission cooler and that car ran 17yrs 380,000mi all original no engine or tranny rebuild.........don't make them like that any more....
