What year/s was the vortec engine offered in the Yukon 2door?
I know that most have the 350 5.7L V8, but i see some people listing them with a vortec engine.
Are there only particular years that have the vortec? And what's the difference with the vortec? This question pertains to the 2 door model if it makes a difference. |

Re: What year/s was the vortec engine offered in the Yukon 2door?
96 was the first year of the Vortec engine. From 96 to 99 (some 2000s with older body styles) have the Gen I block. After that the Vortec is based on the Gen III block (4.8, 5.3 and 6.0)
The biggest difference is the L31 heads, a roller cam, central port injection and about 50 HP better than the TBI engines (speaking about the 96 - 99 Vortec). //2000CAYukon |

So you are telling me that all 96-97 2door Yukons were offered stock with the Vortec engine? As long as it was never touched and is a 350 5.7L V8? Either way, how can you be sure it has a Vortec 5.7L when you are looking to buy a Yukon? |
