Grab Handles / Passenger Assist Handles
Since it was such a pain in the rear for me to get mine out, I though I'd post the easy solution. At least for a 2002, pull the handles downward to expose the tab that covers the access hole at each end of the handle. Flip the cover up, slide a round shaft regular (flathead) screwdriver, that barely fits in the hole, up the hole with the blade horizontal, when it hits the end of the hole, simply twist the blade to be verticle to release the clips. Doesn't sound like much, but it cost me 2 new handles since I kept ramming the screwdriver into the hole until the end of the handle's mounting bracket snapped off. When you're ready to reinstall the headliner, remove the metal clips from the roof, stick the handles back into the headliner and snap the clips onto the handles in the headliner BEFORE attempting to push the handles (along with the headliner) back into their holes in the roof.
Sincerely, sick of those frickin' clips
