Looking to buy performance parts..

Hey guys,

Im Kyle and im 17 years old. I have a 2006 Cobalt LT 2.2L Coupe 2 DR. Im looking to either buy performance parts or a new engine for my Cobalt. What would be the best parts to buy to get the most out of my car? Also where would I find a place to buy a Stage 1,2,or 3 Cobalt SS engine? Would it fit in my car? I do know things about cars but im not brightest one wit them. I was thinking if I cant find an engine for a decent price, then get a 3" exaust system, with a Cold Air intake. After that I dont know what else to buy. My friends said a turbo or supercharger would blow my engine, but I dont think it will. Any suggestions?? Sites to buy this stuff is much appreciated.

P.S. Sorry if this is hard to read and if its too much.

Re: Looking to buy performance parts..

My hot rod days are over. However, here's just one of many sources. http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/

Doing a search will show several.

i got the same car and this is what i did. and no a turbo/supercharger would not blow your engine if you take care of it.
start with new springs-
front springs-http://www.crateenginedepot.com/store/Cobalt-FE5-Front-Spring-21994335-P1687C188.aspx
back springs-http://www.crateenginedepot.com/store/Cobalt-FE5-Rear-Spring-10390024-P1668C188.aspx
then strut bar-http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/details/QQChevroletQQCobaltQQAEMQQStrut_BarQQ20052006QQA18 CSB2004.html
new brakes are always good if your gonna have alot of power-http://brakeperformance.com/site/brake_pads.php?vtype=1&vmake=2986&vmodel=3378&vyea r=19682&vdetail=55406&cPath=1_2986_3378_19682_5540 6_102794
i bought a cat back exhaust then a high flo cat and some new headers;
cat-
tubing/muffler-http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/details/QQChevroletQQCobaltQQPacesetterQQExhaust_SystemQQ2 0052007QQP40881475.html
headers-http://www.modernperformance.com/product_info.php?cPath=256&products_id=1520
i bought a s/c system off a friend and he installed it.

none of this is gonna be worth a shit unless you know how to tune it. i would recomend you get someone to help you with this. i also recomend the smt6 piggyback system. thats what i got and it works fine.-http://www.perfectpower.com/products/smt6.asp

if you want nitrous its cheap and works good. if you go with nitrous read up about it before you blow your engine with it-http://www.jegs.com/i/Nitrous%20Express/744/30040-10/10002/-1

you can also get costom tubes for your intake. it probably would be cheaper too.

theses are just cheaper parts for someone with a smaller budget. nitrous works good

oh and if its a manual and your gonna run it hard your gonna need to get a performance clutch. if you dont your gonna burn your stock one up in a few months even if you drive right. the cobalt stock clutch is a piece of shit
