i got a 2001 grand cherokee and i replaced the head gaskets. i started it up and noticed it was blowing oil out of the driver side exhaust manifold and there was a little tick in one of the lifters. then i went to shut it off and the pass. side started making noise under the valve cover and then it quit and now it will not start. the whole time it held 60 lbs oil; pressure and it dint hesitat to start but it did run a little rough. any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks for looking.

Re: help with 2001 cherokee
I'm not sure about your problem; however I'll move this to the Grand Cherokee forum for you; please let us know what engine you have.
You may have gotten some dirt in the bearings which caused them to fail (happened to me).

Re: help with 2001 cherokee
i figured out what had happend i forgot to tighten down the cam timing gear on the pass side wich caused me to loose compression on the right bank and then i pulled the head off to find bent valves cause that 4.7 L isnt a free wheeling motor and i got a different head and now everything is all better so thanks for trying to help and for looking.
