99 Suburban won't shift from Park

Last night, I replaced the vacuum booster on the brakes. Now it will not shift out of Park while it is running. You can turn the key one click past off, shift to nuetral, then start it. Also the cruise control has stopped working. Could the relay/switch that sits on top of the conection going to the brake pedal be bad?

when you messed with the booster install wires/connectors at base of steering collum/brake pedal must be damaged or disconnected...

Re: 99 Suburban won't shift from Park

The final outcome was I replaced the brake relay switch and the retaining clip. I think when I pulled the retaining clip off, that I damaged it enough that it was not holding the relay switch in the right position. If I remember right the switch was aroud 10 bucks, and the clip was about a buck.
