I have been having problems with the drivers front door not locking all the time. Has anybody had any problems like this??

Re: Drivers door lock not operating properly
Do you mean it doesn't always lock with the lock switch on the door, or when using the keyless remote, or what? What year Explorer? Do you have any problems with the door ajar light or interior lights? Does it try to lock and then unlock immediately, or just doesn't even try to lock? Any strange noises when trying to lock the door?

I had the same prob on my 99 if everything is working freely then its most likely the actuator (small block shaped with two wires and a rod coming out of it), but could also be a power issue. I got my replacement from a junk yard for $5, so it's worth a shot.

Re: Drivers door lock not operating properly
It is a 99 Explorer XLT. I do not have any problems with the door ajar or interior lights. Sometimes it will lock but most of the time it will not. When it does it makes a hard noise. All the other doors lock using any device (door lock button, keypad on door, remote, door lock button in the rear). Thanks for asking

Re: Drivers door lock not operating properly
Yep, I agree as well. Sounds like a failing lock solenoid.
