Exclamation Please Help!!! Any changes after aftermarket stereo installed?

Hi, I have a 2003 Alero GL and just had an alpine stereo installed last night. Now my car won't chime when i lock the car from the drivers door as I'm getting out. Is there a reason it's not working? Should it be working? Is anything else going to not work? Oh and since my security system was through the stereo, do I not have that anymore?

I'm really worried. I also and curious if my ABS and Traction control won't work.

If anyone has had an experience with this please help!

The chime and the security are connected through the factory deck, and they stopped working for me as well. All though, a couple of days ago in an automotive department of my friendly neighbourghood WAL-MART I saw a unit I believe made by "schosche" or something like that, which can be installed to fix the chime issue and other factory features. If I remember right it was in the range of $20 to $40.

Thanks for the info. It had turned out they had installed it wrong, re-installed and my traction control now works. the chime isn't working, but i'm glad that i have an explanation for that. thanks. I'm getting used to not hearing it.

Yeah the 2000 and up are tricky about installing aftermarket radios.
They do sell a wire harness that will fix this(so your chimes work), some dealers sell them , I just saw some some them on a web site the other day, much cheaper then the stealerships.

Most likly the traction control switch in the dash was unpluged was why the light was on.
