Need Help!
I have a 89 Cherokee Pioneer. This poor jeep has been taken apart and put back together a lot (someone's toy). I can start it without a key, by just turning the ignition. Lately i have been having a problem with it not wanting to turn off. I used to be able to turn it forward a little bit then turn it back and it would shut off. Today, I couldn't get it to turn off. I finally took a wire out the distrubutor cap to turn it off. When I put the wire back in the car will start again no problem, but it still won't turn off. I have tired putting the key in it that way... alas nothing worked. Any suggestions?

Re: Need Help!
Take apart the ignition and see if it's wired right, maybe get an new ignition switch.

Re: Need Help!
Ignition switch and ignition key cylinder. Replace those and check for any bad wiring right at the ignition switch to make sure none of them are shorted.

Re: Need Help!
lol classic!! That's what I'd do is replace the ignition switch. And trace the wires back and find a short or something. Those vehicles it's rather easy to do.
