Montanna is possessed

Hope someone can help;

I have a 2000 Montana and when I use both sets of keys, the engine will die, especially when its idling. The security light comes on, the spedometer flashes zero, the abs light comes on and the radio reads calibrate for about three seconds then everything returns to normal. This episode repeats a few times a couple times a day. I had the bcm replaced but still same probs.
Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

check codes first. PCM and BCM codes and go from there. Doesn't really seem like an at home fix it project.

Re: Montanna is possessed

the problem sounds like the pass-key is not recognizing your keys. each key has a chip in it when you put the key in the switch and crank the van if the switch does not sense and recognize the chip then it goes into security mode and dies.this is what it is supposed to do.the only thing i can think of is to re-program it by using the owners manual.the manual has a set of steps to program to which ever mode you want to use.these vans will de-program if the battery is disconnected for a couple of days.i have seen some just lose their programming on its own for some reason. try re-programming it and see if this does the trick.there should be 4 modes just pick which one you like and follow the steps in the owners manual . if you don't have a manual then it will be a little tougher. but someone can post the steps for you. let us know what it does...
