skyline engine question

I have many skylines and a 300zx I would love to have a motor for but they seem to be hard to find. I've never done any casting of parts but I plan on doing this and ending up with many little rb26's. I'm wondering what the best kit would be to buy with this motor and how many options do I have. I don't want to end up with a kit where the bottom half of the motor is molded into the chassis. Any Info on the motors, or casting would be great!, thanks!

Re: skyline engine question

Tamiya's R32 GT-R comes with a detailed RB26.

Re: skyline engine question

I got the same idea a couple years ago: I started to cut out and prep parts ( I like to have some sub-assy alone to help paint customizing and to display the RB26DETT alone out of the Sky' belly)

Plan was white metal casted parts (but I guess I'll do in resin by myself) with improoved details, complete iniectors body + fuel rails, better turned (than casted) turbos and PEtched radiator and IC.

Inspiration was

So far the start: I separate and filled all parts

I guess I'll re-take in hand since I have a '95LM and a Nismo 400 that wait to be mount, plus tons of racing and street stuff (included the famous Igor's Godzilla...)

HML Models

Got to know about him on Scale Plastic Cars and I ordered 4 sets of the Package 2 he provides. Just paid the man and he will send them ASAP to me from the UK. His castings look promising. Gio's castings look better as of now, but he has a lot more experience in casting stuff I assume . I am very curious how Gio's engines will be and most likely will end up ordering some of those as well. Garage Diorama plans... Horror for the Curbside Models.

I will take pictures this weekend, if the engine packages arrived.

I know Aoshima made some RB26DETT as well, Jay! was selling one kit of it in Classifieds here.
