94 yj 4.0 squeaking

My '94 yj 4.0 has a squeaking sound when I crank it. As I accelerate the squeak speeds up and eventually is not noticeable. When I completely stopped the squeaking usually starts again. Is this more than just a belt replacement? Thanks!

Hard to tell without listening to it. What is the condition of your serpentine belt?

See if you can locate a little more precisely where the squeaking is coming from.

Re: 94 yj 4.0 squeaking

Turns out the squeak was coming from the distributor cap. I replaced it and the rotor....no more squeak!

Thanks
