94 air suspension problems

we have recently replaced all four struts, solenoids, compressor and dryer.
our problem is that the compressor does not want to air up the bags. we can hear the compressor running for approx 2-3 minutes and then shut itself off. what little air does go into the bags if any seems to leak out. we have tried disconnecting the battery and reconnecting and this does not help. all this has been tried while on the ground or with the frame raised and neither seems to be effective. the vehicle is currently stuck on the ground with the lift underneath and cannot be moved. any suggestions you can give would be appreciated.

Re: 94 air suspension problems

Sounds like its leaking, maybe everywhere.. maybe just one place.

Solenoids can be tricky. I've seen arguments running here where the mechanic finally re-fitted the air lines properly (after many attempts) and the system did eventually work great.

One note about that compressor running.. well two notes..
Make sure it's actually putting out air.. that's the easiest thing to start with.
When it shuts down, it's overheating.. bad idea, you should be able to tell if it's working before it overheats. If it's not, take power away to protect it from burning up.

Re: 94 air suspension problems

The air-ride system is made to vent (not leak) air according to ride height sensors and levelers.
It sounds like the system believes itself to be at proper height even while on the ground.
SInce your post was last year, hopfully you got it already.
