Question questions on an engine swap

i have a 86 fiero se.

the i4 is kinda weak and very old so i know this may sound crazy but i dont if it would work

would a 16 valve toyota i4 engine be compatible with the fiero?

the reason why i ask this is because the 16 valve is a transversal engine and the fiero is rear wheel drive.

any suggestions on how this would work??

Re: questions on an engine swap

With enough money and time, one can install any engine in any vehicle. A swap like this one would be a bit of a nightmare. The transmission, axles, electronics, etc. would all be needed from the Toyota. With all the good choices for "bolt-in" engines for the P-Body, it would be an exercise in "See? It IS different!", but not very practical.
