bodywork questions
I have a 94 formula, its black about 125k miles on it, the guy who had it before me bumped it into something and cracked the passenger side fender and there is a crack on it, about an inch long right above the tire and slightly bigger crack right by the nose piece...
first question, is it possible to repair a plastic fender with a crack and have it both look good and hold up? if not, has anyone gotten one of theese replacement fenders? http://www2.partstrain.com/store/?N=...4+Fender+Flare I'd like to know if its any good or not and last is the fun part, I've been eyeballing this for a while: the bigblock hood, first one on page http://www.americansportscardesigns.com/firebird.shtml I'm wondering if anyone has this hood and has some sort of review on its quality, fit etc.. and how it looks in person Thanks for any help you can give, Nick |

Re: bodywork questions
Those fenders are actually made of ABS plastic. The stock fenders are made of fiberglass. I've heard alot of bad things about those, mainly because of how flexible they are. If you lean on the fender after it's painted, it bends in, and if the right paint isn't used it spiderwebs. I would recommend you get a replacement from the junkyard. Would give you less to worry about, especially with any potential fitment issues.

Re: bodywork questions
My cousin got those plastic fenders for his 02 camaro. him and his buddies were sitting around talking and he was leaning on it w/o noticing and he broke the point off right by the headlight.

Re: bodywork questions
thanks for the info, you most likely saved me a huge headache then... knowing that they are fiberglass, I might take a shot at fixing it myself... worse case scenario... buying a new fender lol
