07 LT MP3 CDs not working...
07 LT MP3 CDs not working. Any ideas? I've tried 2 different brands of CDs. And yes I have the MP3 ready CD player. Sometimes a few songs will play kinda and sound like sh$t and skip other times nothing will happen and it says error 7 or 9. Normal store bought CDs work just fine.

Re: 07 LT MP3 CDs not working...
How are you burning them? Did they once work, but now don't? or is this the first time you've tried?
I have a 08 LS with the MP3 CD player and MP3 CDs burned on my Mac using iTunes work just fine for me. So do MP3 CDs I've created on both Mac and PC by just burning a disc of folders full of MP3 files. Multi-session discs are bad. I don't know about this unit, but many don't like them. Discs burned using packet writing software are bad. non-standard format that many units can't read at all. If normal audio CDs play ok, then I'd say it's the way they're being burned, not the head unit or drive itself. |

Im using Nero 8.1.1.0 Not using multisession. It also happens when I make an exact copy a regular CD.

Re: 07 LT MP3 CDs not working...
Have a friend try burning something for you on a different machine. It's possible that your drive is slightly out of alignment, which would mean the discs would read back fine in the drive that wrote them, but not other drives. It's also possible that your head unit is a little off.
Another very real possibility is the media you're using. Try using a different brand of blank CDs if you haven't already. Actually, the more I think about it, the more likely it seems that it's the media rather than a problem with either drive. I've had no problems with either CDR or CD-RWs in mine. |

Re: 07 LT MP3 CDs not working...
I had my Cousin try burning me one as well. I have tries HP CD-Rs, and Maxell CD-Rs with no luck with either.
If I can't fugure something out I may go down to the dealership and ask to try one in another Aveo and if it work see about getting the CD Player replaced under warranty.

Re: 07 LT MP3 CDs not working...
CDs were not working because it was to cold. After the car warmed up and the cabin was toasty they started to work. I don't know why I didn't think of that before.

Re: 07 LT MP3 CDs not working...
That sounds like an issue with the CD player. If the disks are clean, and from multiple computers, and you have the same problem, since it is an 07, and still under factory, I would say, take it to the nearest dealer (any dealer) tell them the problem. The radio is covered under the bumper to bumper.
