Squeaky '99 Tahoe

Hi, we really need help! We have the worst creeking/squeaking noise coming from front passengers side. We have replaced upper control arm bushings, both front shocks, and greased and lubed all. Now even the steering is schreeching? Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

i would get wd40 spray and selectively spray different pivot points and test until noise goes away or lessens......i had a buick that had the loudest squeeks you could hear more than a block away....it was the front coil springs the top on passenger side.... had to get high temp spray on grease that stoped it for good.....rust caused this .....wd40 should work to locate noise...if the steering is screeching i would look for power steering fluid leaking on belt....

Re: Squeaky '99 Tahoe

When does it squeak? Idling, moving, over bumps?

Have you checked the balljoints and wheel bearings?

If they've been greased regularly, the balljoints probably wouldn't cause it, but if they're rusty inside, they sure could cause it.

While traveling down a fairly smooth (and preferably not busy) road, swerve side-to-side. If the pitch of the squeal changes or goes away in one direction, it is probably the wheel bearing.

Re: Squeaky '99 Tahoe

J-Ri, It squeaks getting in and out, I mean the weight of a person as they get in, it squeaks over bumps, it doesn't squeak idling, and now the steering is making noise as you turn, I'd say the pitch of the steering noise is a bit different. Does this make sense? Thanks for any and all of your help!
