ABS Light and Speedometer

Hi All,

I have a '99 JGC Laredo with a 6 cyl. and has 83,000 miles. MY abs light comes after I start my truck and drive for about 100 feet...I figure I most have a bad ABS sensor on one of the rear wheels. I notice that at times I can put the truck in drive an go and the ABS light dpes come on but I notice that my speedometer will only go to 20 mph and I know that I am driving much faster than that and then the ABS light will come on and the speedometer will jump to the correct speed...any ideas?

Thanks,

Ninpo23

Re: ABS Light and Speedometer

sounds like you have a bad speed sensor on one of the wheels or you may have metal or corosion on the spped sensor try to clean off the sensors and if that dont work replace bad sensor. i can help if needed just ask.

Re: ABS Light and Speedometer

Thanks for the reply, would bad speed sensors also affect the speedometer at times as stated in the second part of my sentence? Is there a central speed sensor unit or just the units behind each of the rear wheels?

Thanks!
