Need advice on building and engine

Some of you guys know I am building a 1/24 diorama using the 1999 Ford Focus as the centerpiece. Part of my diorama is revealing the engine of the car in the rally service area. I am trying to scratch build the engine and have been using different materials with different levels of success. Any advice from any one on ways and/or materials for scrath building engines (block)
Thankyou

Its a tough one! Engines aren't the easiest of things to scratchbuild, i've not attempted it yet. Having said that, i guess they would be pretty straight forward if you have a shed load of reference pics of the engine broken down into its main components. The hard part is finding them!

Anyway, i suggest contacting the guy who runs the Yahoo Rally Car Model Group - Nenad is his name. He was building one some time ago and had a few pics on the site, which have now gone.

Find out when the revell focus comes out, it has an engine. If you finish the scratchbuilt one around the same time as the focus comes out, I say wait for the revell focus and work on something else while you're waiting for the revell focus.

SHIT that wallmart Focus thingy sounds great but I live in Sweden
A bit far from the nearest wallmart (possibly the eastern most tip of Rhode Island). Next time you pass there could you check out the manufacturer and the possible price
Thankyou !!

PS checking out that yahoo rally model group now..
