OBDII Codes

I had a P1404 code pop up a few times so i changed the EGR solenoid vavle and reset the codes. I've been monitoring the relearn on the system and wanted some ckarifiaction on some meaning on the OBDII. At the bottom of my Toptak TP-100 scanner the system that are being monitored flash when they are not "learned " yet. Item like "SA ,OS,OH,EGR,CM and ES". All have reported in and no codes have come up as faults but the ES symbol still flashes that it hasn't been learned. Does anyone know what this "ES" stands for a good driving test to get the computer to learn it.

Thank You......

Re: OBDII Codes

I don't want to sound sarcastic, but do you have the manual?

You could try to figure it out by process of elimination.

EGR is pretty self-explanatory.

OS could be Oxygen Sensors.

ES could be Emissions System.

CM could be something like computer management. Just a guess.

As I understand it, this code reader tells you what tests have run successfully since the last reset. Maybe you could figure it out by thinking through all the different tests that run.

Evap system (Ooohh, wait, that could be ES!)
EGR function
etc.

OK. After thinking through all of this, I'm leaning toward the idea that the Evap System (Purge Solenoid, Vent Solenoid, etc.) haven't been tested yet. The parameters for that test are pretty stringent, so that's believable.
