V-Day, what ya doing for the other half?

I'm going for an all out cheese fest! Candles, rose petals, in her room when she gets home. I got her a watch as a gift, nice frame with a photoshoped picture, and made a card as I often do.

Also the best news of all, after a month and a half of no job, I finally got one. Flo-team at target! 4-12, the best hours ever! So I know she'll be happy then it's off to dinner and a movie probably, Steak 'n Shake and Definitely, Maybe. I might even pay for tonight since I have a job. Hey, she makes $35,000 a year.

Re: V-Day, what ya doing for the other half?

Sounds goods Damien. For this V-day we are being very frugal. We are getting married very soon and have been booking our vendors for this past month with the cost reaching near $25k, so we are saving our pennys right now. We are doing the double feature tomorrow for the movies, Definitely Maybe for her and Jumper for me with a small dinner most likely Olive Garden. Oh and I have 2 free movie passes which is good cause we had both gave blood recently.

Re: V-Day, what ya doing for the other half?

^Ditto. Getting married in June so we're saving although her parents are paying for everything. But for living expenses, insurance etc.

We're using left over gift cards too though!

I signed a deathwish with a man... a certain girl is spending the day with me, not her boyfriend.

Re: V-Day, what ya doing for the other half?

Sent a card and I'm spending it alone. Mainly because I'm at my house for the next 4 days and she's about an hour and a half away due to student teaching. It's ok, we're getting married in April so we're pinching pennies. We're content with it .

Re: V-Day, what ya doing for the other half?

Well... I'm making AC's pork dinner for her, and I made homemade chocolates last night for dessert tonight. I also picked up a potted rose plant that she can keep in her office, I figured that was better than some long stems that would be dead in a week. Although with my girlfriend the potted one will probly be dead in a week as well

Now if only she would get home from work... because the dinners getting cold and I'm diggin into the chocolates waiting haha.

Re: V-Day, what ya doing for the other half?

I sent my favorite coworkers (and my roommate) a fantabulous anti-Valentine's Day e-card... I sent my team a "regular" Valentine's e-card... I told everyone else to eat poo (but not in so many words).

Re: V-Day, what ya doing for the other half?

I am sitting here awake as my other half sleeps behind me. It sucks.

For the past few days I've been planning out V-day. Its with somebody I love, and thats a first so this and her mean a lot to me. I planned out a scavenger hunt. 8 Clues through out my room, each with a letter on the back. It spelled out I L-O-V-E Y-O-U. It all led up to a copper rose I made. She's wanted it forever, but I've never given it to her. So after she came back from class, she did the scavenger hunt, put it together, and was appreciative...but lacked a spark. After she put the letters together she just kissed me, and said thanks.

Since she had classes at 7am, we proceeded to take a nap. After that, opened gifts. That was lame. I love her gifts though.

Then went to dinner...sat in traffic for 45 minutes (to go 10 miles), waited an hour at the restraunt because they wouldnt do reservations. Ate, which she loved the food, as well as I.

Came back, decided to skip the movie. So I lit some candles...we just watched TV.

And now Im here, she's sleeping 8 feet behind me.

I fucking hate this holiday.

Re: V-Day, what ya doing for the other half?

^Awww

Pretty much what I did. I got to her house early and set up candles and spread rose petals everywhere. I sat her gift and a card l made on her bed with a ballon. So before she got there I lit the candles and as we walked into her room I grabbed a flower I had stashed and presented it to her when she turned around surprised.

I guess her appreciation was better than what you received so that's what made my so good. And the two gifts I got after. I actually got a camera lens, one I already had, but mine was kinda messed up anyhow. SO I was happy, it's my thrid copy of that lens.

So we took a nap after...aniwho...and then woke up, went out to eat and skipped the movie because, well, it's LOST tonight. That was it. Simple but great. Makes me look forward to getting married!

Re: V-Day, what ya doing for the other half?

I forgot to mention...I even got a serious card, I told her it was for later. The one that has all the mushy stuff. After we got in bed, I asked her if she wanted to read it..."eh...no..."

I dont know if I am in the doghouse or what...I tried to go above and beyond for V-day. I even looked at her in the car when she was real quiet and said "Sorry, for everything...sorry I failed."

I feel bad, because I wanted it to be really special...yeah, special...

EDIT: Yes I am feeling emo right now.

Re: V-Day, what ya doing for the other half?

There's always a big buildup for VD, so it's a letdown when it's not super.

I just keep it simple, some flowers delivered one day early @ work for a surprise. She loved them.

Re: V-Day, what ya doing for the other half?

She had plenty of flowers since her Grandma died last Sunday, so I stayed welllllll awayy there.

I was going to take her out to dinner to a new Lebanese restaurant, but my car key snapped in half in the door lock. So she had to pick me up.

But we still ate enough garlic to kill a vampire.

An awesome night.
