Here's a crazy thought...

With news of GM losing over $38 BILLION dollars in 2007(http://www.pjstar.com/php/index.php?...74000_us_wor/), I can't help but wonder. Maybe they should recruit the executives over at Exxon-Mobil to run the company and get it back in the black and profitable again,(http://www.bizjournals.com/dallas/st...l?ana=from_rss) since Exxon-Mobil brought in just a little over what GM lost last year.

Yeah it is really sad. What GM needs to do is make cars that people are willing to buy. A portion of GM's losses was over the union stuff. However, the model line up the last few years has been truly sad.

As far as the oil company executives they should be thrown in jail.

GM has never been good at changing with the market, they still have the attitude that the market should follow them. Remember the last time gas was this expensive and GM came up with the Vega and the Monza.

Re: Here's a crazy thought...

There are clear differences in vehicles, whereas most people stop at whatever gas station is closest because most gas is the same.

IMO, GM stopped making quality products sometime between my Silverado and my Beretta. It was probably when they stoped stamping "GM Mark of Excellence" in their keys (yes, I still have the original keys for my truck on my key ring). Both my cars are alright, and not even below any other manufacturers, but there is a clear difference over that 10 years. Even though GM has supposedly started making quality cars again (at least the waranty implies it), it's hard to get past the late '90s and early '00 crap. Another problem is they don't listen to what the consumer wants.
