Battery Gauge
I've posted a previous thread about this problem back in 2003.
Ok, so I haven't had a new battery in 4 years. First off, should I get a new battery? I had a Sears Die Hard. Secondly, when I start my car up it goes up to about 15--but when I turn my lights on, heat on, windshield wipers, etc, the volts go down past the 13--so about 11. But when I use the turn signal- it moves and fluctuates, and even the dashboard panel lights kind of flicker a bit. I put a new alternator in a couple years ago. Any suggetions? |

Re: Battery Gauge
The guage moving is from the blinkers blinking on/off. If any drop in the guage is below 13 then it's probably a bad alternator.

Re: Battery Gauge
So I had Autozone test the battery and alternator and they both turned out fine. But they did notice that the belt could be slipping a bit because its very shiny rather than brand new black. They said it could possibly not gripping enough and getting enough power to the alternator. Could this be right?

Re: Battery Gauge
Not sure if you fixed this problem. If not, check the connection of the positive cable to the remote pole. Mine was loose and I cleaned and tighten. This solved the problem.
