I'm planning on doing a fairly major suspension/steering overhaul on my 2000 3.8 this spring (new quickstruts, lower control arms, stabilizer bars, inner/outer tie rods). I subscribe to alldatadiy.com and have found it to be pretty good. Unfortuantely in the area of this particular repair it's sadly lacking. I am wondering if anyone has any other online subscription they could suggest or possibly any book format. I do have the hayes manual which cover many years etc so it's not fantastic. My real concern is about torque values for lower control arm, steering knuckle inner tie rod. The all data one essentially discussed removal of the rack and that's it.

Any info appreciated.

Try doing a search thru this forum for "Ford Repair CD" as there used to be a web page to download the CD's online. The one I got http://www.fordcds.com/ comes out blank, so maybe it's down. Also you could try having a look at eBay and pickup one at a good deal! Those Ford Service Informaton Manuals list the Torque Values for everything you're concerned about.

In alldatadiy, some additional torque specifications can be found under the "specifications" tab within each repair listing.

I cannot remember if you were the one that I mentioned this to a couple days ago.......that you should pick up new sway bar "links" as the original nylon ones will most likely get destroyed in the removal process.
Not real expensive.

I did post a couple pictures in the pictures that the link in my signature takes you to that show a front and rear view of the front suspension.......where I have tried to label various items with the names that are used in the ALLDATADIY manual.

The absolute BEST parts breakdown that I have seen is the one that they have on the computers at the dealershp parts counter.
I do not know if they list any torque specifications.
I believe he dealership pays for a subscription for the parts manual.....as I see that they offer a subscription service through Motorcraft.....pricey though you can get a short term subscription, like a week or month.
You would want to be sure that it had the information you need before paying though.

I've used this. It's identical to the factory service manual. You can print out any pages you want to keep.
