GM's new turboed Cobalt Like/dislike

Just wanted to see what every1 thought about GM changing from the supercharger to a turbo on the Cobalt.

Personally i liked the SC .i like the idea of having straight up hp from the go insted of lag but ...then again a turbo can yeild more power down the line?what do you all think?

I think they should re badge it to a GXP and the SS should have the Harrop S/c they released.

the harrop SC would be a damn good idea, but the GXP should stick with the Solstice and should be the cobalt turbo and then the ss should be super charged for ppl who want a turbo or SC,but eh.... thats just me.

I want the turbo cobalt. Probably will buy one in 2010 when they have gone down a bit.

I think the should release a Pontiac G5 GXP with the turbo'd engine. Seems to be the only Pontiac without a GXP trim. And its the same as the cobalt and cobalt has a SS trim.

yeah^^^ i think the pontiac g5 looks sweeter than the cobalt and would love to see a gxp version with turbo and all the goodies the cobalt ss has.

Re: GM's new turboed Cobalt Like/dislike

im sure there will be a gxp g5 coming out soon. rarely does gm make a chevy performance product and not apply it to pontiac or any other gm brand. camaro ss/z28-pontiac trans am, cobalt ss-saturn ion redline and on down the line. i like the sound of the s/c but the power capabilities of a turbo. but im sure, just like the srt-4, the turbo will be small enough to virtually eliminate turbo lag while still be able to deliver some impressive power. now if gm were to come out with a twin-charged cobalt/g5 then i would be sold because it would have the best of both worlds, but as for now, im more partial to the power rather than sound.

Yeah, I found it odd the G5 didn't have a GXP, especially when I thought Pontiac was more sport oriented. I mean even the Saturn Ion got a redline. But my dad has a Solstice GXP... And trust me, turbo lag won't bother you at all That is an amazing engine.
