Sparco wheel came in... if you go Momo/Sparco you'll need a new quick release.
Yay...
![]() ![]() ![]() Turns out what I/we have is a Sweet Mfg. 3 bolt quick release with a custom machined adapter on it to accent the 6 bolt Fitipaldi wheels. The bolt spacing for the Fitipalidi is a hair off of the Momo/Sparco wheels. At first I thought it was going to line up and I figured why the heck would Sweet MFG make a 6-bolt adapter that doesn't work with the most common aftermarket wheels (they only make one unit). I was able to get 2 holes on the Sparco wheel lined up but all the others were off. Started looking at pics online and realized Sweet Mfg's 6-bolt hub adapter is different that what I have... that's when I realized I have a 3-bolter with the custom plate to accept the Fitipaldi. Going to order the proper piece tomorrow

Allrighty... new quick release hub on the way.
A whopping $82.00 vs. $300ish for a Sparco quick release. It's part number 801-70002 for the quick release only as we don't need the stubshaft that welds to the steering shaft. It's not listed in their catalog though.

You could always redrill and tap the old one to fit the new wheel.

^ Yep... that is true, but that would require some way to center the wheel in the spacer, a drill press (which I don't have), and buying the correct size tap and screws.
Plus... getting this new quick release will move the wheel away from me about 1/3" which will be good for me.

Turns out are wheels are older Personal (a brand if you didn't allready know) wheels. They use Personal/Nardi spacing which is why the sparco won't fit. Apparently they're worth a bit of coin.
