I would have thought they would have had a new GT-R out by now.. maybe Fujimi will do one.

Tamiya used to be my favorite Japanese brand, but in the last few years, Fujimi has been issuing a lot more new and interesting kits...

they know their aim, tamiya goes for the highend stuff which leaves a lot of other subjects for aoshima and fujimi to pick up that more people are into not everyone builds ferraris,porsches,dtms and racecars which is the only stuff tamiya seems to be into and theres only so many builders out there that build such subjects

Tamiya's given up on Ferraris and Porsches also..they haven't had a new Ferrari (besides the FXX) in years.. .Fujimi, Hasagawa and Revell have had several new Ferrari issues in recent years.

There hasn't been much in the way of new Porsche kits except for Fujimi's Cayman... I'd love to see someone tool up some new 911s.. and also some current Audis, BMWs, and Mercs..

Nothing new, really.

But they are not the only ones. Gunze didn't make a new car kit for quite some time, and they did some great ones before).
The same for Italeri and Airfix.
Heller only makes French rally cars these days.

However, they all pump out plenty of airplanes and ships.

Revell, Fujimi and Hasegawa are the ones that keep a somewhat better balance between military kits and automotive ones.

Tamiya has now gone mainly only to Military and R/C now.

leaving the automotive fan out.

It's not a reissue so much as a repackaging. Ferrari has gotten very specific about the packaging design for kits of their cars. In complying, Tamiya changed the stock numbers of the kits in new boxes.

When Tamiya reissues a kit, it tends to keep the original stock number.
