Re: Sitting 1 Year

I'd change the oil and filter, check all the fluids, add some fresh gas to the tank, check the tire pressures, see if the battery is fully charged for starters. That is what I have done to my vehicles that have been idle for a year or so. Most of these modern fuel injected vehicles will start after sitting a year which is good compared to the old carburetored types that had trouble if the gas was stale. I still add some fresh fuel to mix with the old stuff in the tank for better chances of starting.

Also might consider changing the transmission filter and fluid after you get the vehicle started and running.

this is simular to prep boat engine for use in spring in addition to other suggestions, before starting/cranking it is a good idea to remove plugs and add 1oz of marvel mystry oil into the cylinders. let it sit for a day and then go for it. it is possible the rings will be stuck rusted and this will hopefully prevent cracking a ring.....
