tranny

So i have a friend with a '95 F-150 inline6 with a five speed manual...the second gear syncro is bad and instead of paying up the ass for the thing to be rebuilt he wants to do a tranny swap, the problem is we dont know what tranny to get. If you know what tranny it is or where to part number is on the tranny that would be a lot of help thanks

Most any 5 speed from a 1988-1996 f-150 should work. Even with a different engine size, the front of the tranny(where it bolts to the engine) should be the same. I assume you would go to a salvage yard to get the tranny, they could help you out there also. If the tranny looks physically the same on the outside it should work. NOTE: a two wheel drive tranny and a four wheel drive tranny will be different(yes phsically on the outside).
