Unhappy 98 Ford Crown Vic

When I turn my ignition on the lights come on but I cant get the motor to turn over. Ive replaced the relay and still doesnt start. I can start it by hotwiring the box on the column. Any suggestions?

Re: 98 Ford Crown Vic

First 2 things that come to mind are the Ignition switch on the column, and the 'box' (the actual switch part) on the lower column. You may just need to adjust this, to get the car to start. Probably move it a tiny bit closer to the top of the column, also, check the connecting rod between these parts to be sure it isn't bent. Hope this helps!
