90 s10 blazer starting issues

all my blazer will do is click once when I turn the key. I have tried jumping it ,replaced the battery , tried hitting the starter.still no go, I found the connecter plug to the ac motor corroded and broken, am wondering if this would be of concern with my problem. Thanks for any help

Re: 90 s10 blazer starting issues

Probably not an issue. Sounds like you have starter problems. If the battery is good and you only get one click when you turn the key it probably the starter of the solinoid that engagues the the starter. If you can get to the start and the two poles that the wires are connected to you can use a screw driver to jump across those two poles. If its the solinoid the starts will jump and try to turn. The warning here is that when you put the screw driver on the poles at the starter you will get a spark and more than likely it will make you jump back if you have never done this before. but if you have done this or know someone that has it usually not much of an issure. But It will tell you if the solinoid is not working to engague the starter.
