junk yards will not remove from whole axle....... i was wondering if one from different truck or car would work.........it has to be the type where the cylinder bolts on not clips..........yes it is s10 and 4x4........thanks

Re: 96 blazer backing plate

Most auto parts stores carry, or can get them. The axles must be removed to replace them. Dorman also makes a "split plate" that the axles don't have to be removed, but they're pretty cheesy.

With the new border security laws in effect, it may be easier to go to the web site and order them online. They'll ship right to your door.

Re: 96 blazer backing plate

I was gona say the same thing. parts places will ship right to you.
E-bay may be a place to check too. someone might be parting out.
I know that shipping to canada is expensive, I have shipped there before.
just a thought. I was not aware you were there.

Re: 96 blazer backing plate

The one in the link I posted is for clip on cylinders only. Been having trouble locating ones that bolt on myself. I can tell you for sure that the 2002 Chevrolet Astro uses bolt on cylinders. I haven't checked yet, but I'm betting the dealer can get those, and they'll work on the blazer too. They use the same shoes, wheel cylinders, and hardware.
