Red face 2000 wagon rear wiper doesn't work

Okay, so I checked the fluid motor and it works, I get a spray out of it, but no wiper usage at all.(all front wipers work fine) so I check the fuses, all fine. then an engineer friend brings over his voltage meter and says there is not any power reaching the rear wiper motor at all. We turned on the car and pushed the button on and off and retested since it is hard to tell if button is on or off when wiper doesn't work. So anyway, same result. So he thinks that it is not the motor. So what could it be???
I hope someone can help.
Rita

Re: 2000 wagon rear wiper doesn't work

Welcome to the forum!

In the Central Junction Box fuse panel there is a 15-amp fuse, fuse 2.11. This fuse supplies power to the wiper switch. Verify you have power on the black/pink wire when the key is in ACC or Run. If so, check for power on the white/orange wire either at the switch or at the motor when the wiper is switched on for continuous wipe. Intermittant wipe should yield a pulsed voltage on the white/orange wire.

Also, when making the measurements, make sure you are using a good ground reference. There's a lot of plastic in these cars, so just arbitrarily holding the black volt meter lead to a piece of metal doesn't guarantee a good ground. You'll also want to verify the black wire at the wiper motor has continuity to a good ground as well.
