map sensor not conneced 97' lsi

I just purchased a 97' LSI 1.3 and I am getting code p0106 which points to the map sensor. I located the sensor mounted on the firewall and the vacum hose that comes out from it goes to a metal hose on the firewall, but then that ends up not going anywhere. there is a bracket at the end of where that hose goes, but there isn't anything there? Where is this hose supposed to go from the sensor?

It should hook up to the intake manifold somewhere. Should be a diagram stuck to the inside of the hood.

it sounds like you have a hose going the wrong way. I'm not exactly sure of the '97's but the earlier ones had a hose going from the intake manifold and going directly to the MAP sensor on the firewall. Yours may possibly be missing a hose from the metal portion, going to the intake manifold. You may also unplug the MAP sensor hose from the metal hose and see if it will reach to the connector on the intake manifold. The connector on the intake should be found under the throttle body assembly, pointing toward the firewall.
