My 01 dakota (4.7L, 4x4) runs great but the oil pressure is always at the High level. Once in a while it will drop down to just above middle, then climb back to High. The engine has run Mobil1 synthetic since birth, any ideas?

Re: 01 Dakota Oil Pressure
Use a pressure gage and get an exact reading. They have a pressure regulator in the plate where you bolt the filter. Buy a new one from a dealer or get one at a junk yard and buy a new o-ring or gasket.
Always use a pressure gage before spending money on parts you don't need. You may only need a new sending unit or gage. |
