92 Accord Automatic transmission slams from 1- to 2nd gear
Is there an adjustment for this. When the car shifts from 1st to 2nd it acts like it has a shift kit in it. But other than that is does fine doesn't slip. And also is there a way to adjust the lock up converter. Because while going down the highway. it will shift in and out. With just the slightest touch of the accelarator.

Re: 92 Accord Automatic transmission slams from 1- to 2nd gear
Check the adjustment of the TV cable that runs from the tranny to the throttle. Adjustment has to be precise, don't guess.
1-2 upshifts are always neck-snapping on Hondas with any kind of throttle input above "granny" hard to say what would be excessive, unless it's chirping the tires when shifting under normal demand or something.. I don't know the spec for your year. TCC is supposed to unlock when you touch the gas or brake...it's just more annoying on some vehicles...or is this something that started recently?

Re: 92 Accord Automatic transmission slams from 1- to 2nd gear
I had thought about checking the cable , but was unsure. Is there a place I can go to get the exact adjustment instructions or the basic how to. I have had several of these cars and never had one shift this hard even under heavy acceleration.
TCV problem isn't as bad since I had the Flowmaster removed and had a regular muffler put on. Probablly because I can't hear it going in and out. Go figure. Now if I can somehow soften the shifting. |

See if your local library has access to Mitchell On-Demand or Chilton's and get the spec from there online. Some do. For one that age they may have factory service manuals on the shelf too...that's where I always get that kind of specific info...
Yeah the wife's ZX2 had an agressive exhaust, the TCC lock/unlock drove me nuts on the highway with the exhaust pitch changing all the time.
