s-10 revs high when clutch is pressed
I have 2001 s-10 pick-up with a 4.3l motor. when I am driving and press in the clutch the rpms will start to climb. If it press down on the accelerator quickly to try and get it to maybe unstick, it still will climb. Even at low rpms and just cruising this will happen more often than not. Is there something that controlls this rpm speed when the clutch is pressed.

Re: s-10 revs high when clutch is pressed
Is the SES light on? If so, what codes are stored? There may be a carbon build up on the throttle plate or throttle shaft, there may be a vacuum leak, the throttle linkage may be binding, or there may be a problem with the IAC, (Idle Air Controller).
