2001.5 VW Passat Mirror does not stop tilting up

Hey,

Can anyone help me out trying to figure out what the problem is with my 2001.5 VW Passat. MY drivers mirror does not stop trying to tilt up when i have the car running. When i stop the car and lock the doors the mirror finally stops trying to tilt up. I can turn the mirror switch to my drivers side mirror and press down to tilt the mirror down and it works. As soon as i let it go it goes right back up and again motor keeps buzzing by trying to tilt it up. Any help or guidance would be awesome!!!

you will have to remove the door pannel and disconnect the mirror switch with the car running. If the mirror stops trying to go up than its the switch that needs to be replaced -$40. IF the mirror still trys going up than its the motor in the mirror - $100.
