my 1989 ford f150 4x4 will probably start right now but if i drove it up to the store it may not start it will have a slow rotation of 2 or 3 and then the old low bttery sound tic tic tic but it will turn right over with a jump. I have put in a new altenater, battery, solenoid and starter.sometimes my altenater gauage will move around i took the truck to a starter shop and he hooked up his device and said something is pulling amps. any ideas thanks.

I would suspect a bad battery cable or a dirty or slightly loose connection. I would start by cleaning(I mean really cleaning) all the cable connections. Even though you replaced the battery, I would take the cables back off the posts and make sure they are shiny clean.(posts and inside cable ends. When you put the cables back on tighten until you can't twist the cable end on the post and then tighten a little more. Do the same with the connections on the solenoid. Check the battery connection on the starter. I think the ground cable on this truck hooks on the starter mounting bolt, check that out. Replace any cables that don't look good. NOTE: Anytime you work on anything electrical, especially battery cables, unhook the negative battery cable to prevent sparks or explosions.
