1996 taurus

I have taken my car twice to have it inspected in ma.and was told that the computer isn`t ready, thats its not reset.what do i do next....fish

Do you get charged for the attempted inspection? If so, it probably won't be long and you could pay off the cost of a scan tool that incorporates I/M Readiness features. This will tell you if your car is ready for the inpection, as well as which group is not ready. Additionally, the tool will prove quite useful in troubleshooting what is preventing the readiness tests from completing.

I seem to recall a thread recently posted along the same lines that their vehicle computer wasn't ready, so it couldn't be inspected. Since I don't remember where I read it, the best I can tell you is to search for it in the taurus, escort and windstar forums or all of ford for related topics.
