audio stops when under heavy acceleration?

hey, i have a problem with my headunit. its a pioneer deh3900. whenever i accelerate fast, the music stops playing. i have to turn it off then turn it back on again for it to start working again. sometimes when i accelerate slighty hard, it just like gets clippy, but doesnt go out all the way. any idea what could be wrong? the headunit itself doesnt shut off, it just stops playing music. i had it installed by a pro. so i assume all the wireing is hooked up right. its been doing this for about 2 weeks now and ive had the unit for about 5 months.

Thumbs up Re: audio stops when under heavy acceleration?

sounds like to me ya have a power problem from the load cause from heavy acceleration but cant be for certian but id start there if youre using crimp style connector that has a piece of wire goin in each end id check the resistance of the connectors an check youre grounds.

Re: audio stops when under heavy acceleration?

check the ground because i notice with mine the ground got loose after a couple of months and maybe from the accelration it is causing the ground to not be in contact with metal.

Re: audio stops when under heavy acceleration?

if you put a star washer between the body and the lug, it won't turn or come loose.

I don't think a ground loop would cause this problem, but a loose ground could.

Re: audio stops when under heavy acceleration?

this would be more like a ground substitution ....... if the actual gnd is loose or missing, the headunit may try to look for a gnd thru the antenna gnd or even the rca gnd wire.
